Cat Baths

Hello!
This is my first post on here :3
And this post is on whether or not, and how, to bath your cat.
Ok, has the cat rolled in something...icky? Or do they not lick themselves? Or are just in need of a spruce up?
Give them a bath! (Or a shower.)
But, depending on the cat, it's hard. Some cats, like Humbug, don't make too much of a fuss. Humbug paws at the shower walls and occasionally gives heartrending yowls, but other than that - he's good. After the shower, he sits on my lap and just...sits there, really. He won't budge. Ok, this is going off topic.
But really, the thing to do is to get in the bath/shower with the cat. A shower with closing doors is recommendable as the cat won't jump out. You should not make a habit of giving your cat a bath, unless it really wants to have one! Turkish Van cats and other water-loving cats won't mind having a bath, though of course there are exceptions. For most cats, you should only give them a bath when it's absolutely necessary. Make sure, if using soap, it doesn't go in their eyes, ears, nose or mouth. Also, check the water temperature - too cold is bad and too hot is bad. It shouldn't be the sort of bath temperature humans generally use, though. Something a bit under.
Your cat should come out soaking wet - but very clean! Don't be surprised if the cat spends hours licking itself afterwards. ^.^

Good luck on bathing your cat!
